About Char & Dan
Daniel grew up in the country, building forts and shooting squirrels out of trees. Charlene grew up in the suburbs… building forts and shooting squirrels out of trees.
They met, married, and bought a house in a cookie-cutter neighborhood northeast of Houston, Texas. That house was too close to their neighbors so, a year later, they purchased another house on 1/4 acre… still in a neighborhood.
It is now four years later. They’ve been through a quarantine, a pandemic, a housing boom, traffic galore, and an unrelenting urge to raise their children with bare toes in the dirt and chickens squawking at their feet.
So they bought 12 acres in a city with a population of 81, found a used brush-hog, and borrowed Dan’s dad’s tractor.
Follow their journey as they carve out their own little piece of Heaven from an old pine tract and raise their children in the country.
